Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 8 October 2026

1. Introduction

1.1. These Terms and Conditions govern the use of www.templelex.co.uk and the services provided by [Full Registered Company Name], trading as Temple Lex (“Temple Lex”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

1.2. Our business address is Temple House, 10 Temple Street, Aylesbury, HP20 2QH, United Kingdom.

1.3. By requesting or purchasing our services, you agree to the terms applicable to those services. Any specific written service agreement will take precedence where its provisions differ from these general terms.

1.4. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights under applicable UK consumer protection legislation.

2. Our Services and Regulatory Status

2.1. Temple Lex provides consultancy, administrative assistance and related support services, including assistance with applications, documents, benefits, translations, business matters and other services described on our website.

2.2. Temple Lex is not a law firm authorised or regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

2.3. Temple Lex does not undertake reserved legal activities or other regulated professional activities unless lawfully authorised to do so.

2.4. Where a matter requires regulated legal services, court representation, notarial services or specialist accounting services, we may refer or introduce you to an appropriately authorised independent professional or organisation.

2.5. Before such services begin, you will be informed of the identity of the service provider, their role, the applicable fees and the relevant terms of engagement.

2.6. An individual professional's qualifications or regulatory status do not mean that Temple Lex itself is regulated by the same professional body.

2.7. Services provided directly by Temple Lex are not automatically covered by the regulatory protections applicable to SRA-authorised law firms.

3. Enquiries and Acceptance of Instructions

3.1. You may contact us through our website, telephone, email, WhatsApp or other communication channels made available by Temple Lex.

3.2. Submitting an enquiry or booking request does not automatically establish a client relationship or mean that we have accepted responsibility for your matter.

3.3. Before accepting instructions, we may request further information to understand your circumstances, identify the appropriate service and assess whether we can assist.

3.4. We reserve the right to decline an instruction where the matter falls outside our services or expertise, a conflict of interest exists, required information is unavailable, or we cannot lawfully provide the requested assistance.

3.5. An instruction is accepted only when we confirm our agreement to provide the relevant service.

3.6. Unless expressly agreed in writing, Temple Lex does not assume responsibility for monitoring deadlines, submitting applications or taking action before an instruction has been accepted.

4. Fees and Payments

4.1. Fees will be communicated before the commencement of paid services.

4.2. Depending on the service, fees may be fixed, consultation-based or calculated according to the work required.

4.3. Payment may be required in advance or according to an agreed payment schedule.

4.4. Any additional charges, including government fees, application fees, translation charges, courier costs or third-party professional fees, will be explained before they are incurred where reasonably possible.

4.5. Payments may be made using the payment methods accepted by Temple Lex and communicated at the time of booking or instruction.

4.6. Where additional work becomes necessary, we will explain the proposed work and any additional fees before proceeding.

4.7. Payment does not guarantee the approval of an application or any particular result.

5. Appointments and Consultations

5.1. Appointments may be offered by telephone, video call or in person, depending on the service and availability.

5.2. Appointment dates and times are subject to confirmation.

5.3. If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

5.4. Any appointment-specific cancellation or rescheduling arrangements will be communicated before booking, subject to your statutory rights.

5.5. Where a consultation identifies the need for further assistance, any additional services and associated fees will be discussed separately.

6. Documents and Client Responsibilities

6.1. You are responsible for providing accurate, complete and up-to-date information relevant to your matter.

6.2. You must inform us promptly of any material changes in your circumstances that may affect an application or service.

6.3. We may request supporting documents, identification or other information necessary to carry out the agreed work.

6.4. We may suspend work where required documents or information have not been provided.

6.5. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming the accuracy of information in forms and applications before submission, where applicable.

6.6. We are not responsible for adverse consequences directly caused by inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by you, to the extent permitted by law.

6.7. Original documents should only be provided where specifically requested and through an agreed method.

7. Applications and Third-Party Decisions

7.1. Temple Lex may assist with preparing forms, organising documents, submitting applications and communicating with relevant organisations, within the scope of the agreed service.

7.2. Decisions concerning benefits, passports, registrations, licences, government applications and other official matters are made by the relevant authorities.

7.3. We cannot guarantee that any application will be approved, completed within a particular timeframe or result in a specific outcome.

7.4. Processing times provided by government departments, public authorities and other organisations are outside our control.

7.5. Any estimated timeframe communicated by Temple Lex is indicative unless expressly agreed otherwise.

7.6. Where an application involves a deadline, you must notify us of that deadline when first contacting us. We will confirm whether we can undertake the required work within the available time.

8. Independent Professionals and Referrals

8.1. Certain services may require the involvement of solicitors, notaries, accountants or other appropriately qualified professionals.

8.2. Where Temple Lex introduces you to an independent professional, we will explain whether your agreement for that service will be directly with that professional or their organisation.

8.3. Independent professionals remain responsible for the services they provide under their own terms of engagement and applicable professional obligations.

8.4. Temple Lex will not represent that an independent professional's services are regulated services provided by Temple Lex itself.

8.5. Any referral or introduction fees, where applicable and legally required to be disclosed, will be communicated appropriately.

9. Cancellations and Refunds

9.1. You may request cancellation of a service by contacting us at contact@templelex.co.uk.

9.2. Where you enter into a consumer service contract online, by telephone or otherwise at a distance, you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of entering into the contract.

9.3. Where you expressly request that we begin providing a service during the statutory cancellation period, and you subsequently cancel, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services already supplied, where permitted by law and where the applicable legal requirements have been met.

9.4. Where a service has been fully performed during the cancellation period following your express request and the required acknowledgement, your statutory cancellation right may end.

9.5. Where the statutory cancellation right does not apply, any contractual cancellation or refund arrangements will be communicated before the service begins.

9.6. If Temple Lex cancels a service before any work has been performed, we will refund any payment received for that service.

9.7. Where we cannot complete an agreed service, any refund will be assessed fairly in accordance with the work performed, the circumstances and your statutory rights.

9.8. Third-party charges already incurred may be non-refundable where lawfully applicable and properly disclosed.

9.9. Nothing in this section limits your rights to remedies where services are not provided with reasonable care and skill or where other statutory rights apply.

10. Complaints

10.1. We aim to provide a professional, respectful and transparent service.

10.2. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our services, please contact us at contact@templelex.co.uk, explaining the nature of your complaint.

10.3. We will acknowledge complaints within five working days and aim to provide a substantive response within 15 working days. If further investigation is required, we will inform you.

10.4. Complaints relating to services supplied by an independent regulated professional may also be subject to that professional's complaints procedure and any applicable external redress arrangements.

10.5. Nothing in this section restricts any statutory rights or remedies available to you.

11. Confidentiality and Data Protection

11.1. We treat information provided by clients as confidential, subject to applicable legal obligations and necessary disclosures.

11.2. We process personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

11.3. Information may be shared with relevant authorities, service providers or independent professionals where necessary and lawful for the provision of the agreed service.

11.4. Further details about how we collect, use, store and protect personal information are provided in our separate Privacy Policy.

11.5. We recommend that sensitive documents are provided only through communication methods agreed with our team.

12. Website Information

12.1. Information published on our website is provided for general information about our services.

12.2. Website content does not constitute personalised legal, financial, tax or other regulated professional advice.

12.3. We aim to keep website information accurate and current but cannot guarantee that all information will remain up to date following changes in law, government procedures or third-party requirements.

12.4. External website links are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for the content or operation of third-party websites.

13. Liability

13.1. Temple Lex will exercise reasonable care and skill when providing services within the scope of an accepted instruction.

13.2. We are responsible for losses caused by our breach of contract or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill to the extent required by applicable law.

13.3. We are not responsible for decisions made independently by government departments, public authorities or other third parties, except to the extent that our own breach of duty has caused or contributed to the loss.

13.4. We are not responsible for delays arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control, although we will take reasonable steps to communicate relevant developments.

13.5. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
